Tumbleweed meets at-risk youth and young adults where they are and strives to create a continuum of care, making space for hope and opportunity. Founded in 1976, Tumbleweed is a non-profit, community-based agency serving homeless, trafficked, runaway, and otherwise at-risk youth and their families and support systems.

We see youth as an asset, capable and worthy. Our vision is to end youth homelessness in our community. We are deliberate and intentional in our youth-based programming, and we work alongside youth to evoke lasting life change.

Tumbleweed’s crisis counseling and youth services are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Tumbleweed’s services are free of charge and include crisis prevention and intervention; family counseling; adolescent support groups; information, advocacy, and referral to other community services; parenting courses; aftercare and assistance with runway youth and reuniting them with their parent/legal guardians. Our resource center offers individualized advocacy to youth as they move from surviving to thriving.

Tumbleweed is a community partner investing in the extraordinary potential of youth. At Tumbleweed, we strive to serve our community and some of its most vulnerable citizens by employing several important guiding principles: our programs are flexible and individualized; we are deliberate in our attempts to build genuine, trusting relationships; and we view young people in a way that recognizes their strengths while taking into consideration the tremendous adversity and trauma they may have experienced.
